The tenth session of the RA I Working Group on Hydrology was held in Entebbe, Uganda from 31 May to 2 June 2010. Thirty-four participants attended it from twenty-three countries including representatives from UN and River Basin Organizations, Economic Groupings and WMO delegates.
Re-establishment of the Working Group on Hydrology
The fourteenth session of the Regional Association I, who met in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) from 14 to 23 February 2007, re-established the Working Group on Hydrology for the inter-sessional period 2007-2010.
The session appointed Mr Dumsani Mndzebele (Swaziland) as Regional Hydrological Adviser and chairperson of the Group and Mr Jean-Claude Ntonga (Cameroon) the vice-chairperson. The Association also appointed the following to serve as Sub-regional Coordinators:
· Mr Fred Kyosingira (Uganda) – Eastern Africa sub-region
· Mr Zacharia Maswuma (South Africa) – Southern Africa sub-region
· Mr Frigui Hassen Lofti (Tunisia) – Northern Africa sub-region
· Mr Jean-Claude Ntonga (Cameroon) – Central Africa sub-region
· Mr Abrahman Sow (Guinea) – Western Africa sub-region
· Mr Frankie Dupres (Seychelles) – Liaison officer to Tropical Cyclone Committee
